- How do you serve children and families?
- Nicole’s Soar With A Child Always serves today’s youth and their families through four different avenues: the Mentoring Program, Proper Social Etiquette Classes and Academic presentations, and the S.W.A.C.A. Summer Academy (involving University Tours, tutoring, etc.). The mentoring program matches young ladies and young gentlemen between the ages of 9-16 with a Professional, and Successful mentor that commits to spending one-on-one time with each child in the presence of a S.W.A.C.A. Staffer.
What is an at-risk youth?
- In our program, an at-risk youth is defined as a young person who is either - 1) without a positive male/female in his or her life, 2) living in a single-parent home, 3) has been referred through a social service agency, or 4) has a parent that is away in the Military.
Where do our youth come from?
- Nicole’s Soar With A Child Always youth are referred through many different avenues. One way is by word of mouth by community/church leaders, school teachers and/or School counselors. Another potential referral would be through a social service agency. Some referrals come directly from a parent/guardian who is reaching out and in search of extra support for their child.
How is Nicole’s S.W.A.C.A. Funded?
- Nicole’s Soar With A Child Always is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Most of our funding comes from private donors. Some give on a monthly basis, while others give annually. We are looking to have a larger portion of our funding come through grants, and community fund-raising events.
How is Nicole’s S.W.A.C.A. Mentoring different?

- We help youth visualize a future of possibility that inspires them to stay focused and give back to the community.
- We offer tools to support young people in reaching for what inspires them, and provide insight to what negative influences/environment can offer as an end result.
- Our Youth learn to make responsible choices.
- We offer “Elite in Life” mentor training including how to establish a powerful relationship with their community, family, friends, and colleagues.
- Nicole’s S.W.A.C.A. mentors receive a high level of support consistently through the program.
